I bought a 3D mold to make a rubber ducky. I haven't made 3D figures before. What is the best way to bring the two halves together? Should I put the chocolate in both halves then quickly press them together and let harden? I am worried that they will pull apart when i unmold. If I do the halves separately and try to press together after they harden, I cant see how to do the edges so they will come together nicely. Is there someone out there who does 3D chocolate who could give me some advice? Thanks.

I make mime separately and using melted chocolate to glue together. I remove them from the mold and carefully place them together to get an idea how much separation there is and where. Then I run a warm spatula across the back to smooth out rough areas and warm chocolate to fill in any large gaps.
