I NEED A DARK RED ICING FOR SPIDERMAN CAKE WITHOUT TASTING BITTER. COULD ANYONE GIVE ME THEIR SECRET FOR RED ICING. I HAVE SEEN THE PICTURES POSTED AND THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE THE PERFECT PLACE TO GET MY ANSWER. GRATEFUL DEB icon_biggrin.gif

Use Americolor gels!! I use them and they are great. A lot better than Wilton.

I start my red frosting with marichino cherry juice just becareful with the liquid amounts. I also use Americolor gels

If all you can get is Wilton, use the No-taste red, some folks like to start off with pink and then add red, you use less that way.

For my Elmo cake I made pink and then added the red. The color looked great.

my wife uses the juice too and then adds no taste red.
