I want to use a box mix and make different color layers.

for 2 layers it says 34 minutes using an 8 inch round pan. But I want to split each layer into 3 parts so I make a 6 thin layer cake.

So how long would I bake each thin layer?

thanks,

Until it's done.

I know that sounds like a smart-ass response, but it's the real answer icon_smile.gif

ditto. It's the only real answer. We don't know if you're using a convection or convention oven or even what temp you're using.

As the others said, use your nose to tell you when the cake is done. The times offered on cake boxes are NOT set in stoneicon_smile.gif Every oven is different. what works for one persone does not necessarily work for another.

A cake is done when you can smell that wonderful aroma all over the house icon_smile.gif

Thin layers cake take as little as 5-10 minutes!
Does the cake batter have to be different colors? Why not just make 1 or 2 cake(s), split it into 3 layers and use different colored icing as filling?
