Hi guys....gotta pick your brains again if anyone has time. I was asked to do a raspberry flavored cake.....actually the kind where the bottom tier is dark pink and each tier is lighter til you get to the top tier which is white cake. Would this be accomplished with raspberry jello mix mixed into the cake mix??? They were not talking about real raspberries in the cake itself. Thanks!!!

you can do raspberry jello or raspberry jam or both to get the different colors.

Get yourself some Boyajian raspberry flavour. It's natural and OUTTA THIS WORLD. You can add it to cake mix or scratch, use 1 tsp per cup of butter in the recipe.

Or, you could start with a good vanilla cake recipe, and swirl the cake with a raspberry purée, the same way you would make a marble cake. This would give it a lovely fresh raspberry taste mixed with buttery vanilla. Yum...

I bought the Boyajian extract from a vendor whom I no longer support. But this brand is available direct if you live in the US, look at www.boyajianinc.com and they can connect you with vendors. This extract is great for making truffles as well as baking, it isn;t coloured and it has a fragrance that really boosts the raspberry flavour from fresh/pureeed fruit.
