Piping has always been a challenge for me....mostly because I can't get the proper consistency! It's either too thick or too thin! Are there any photos or videos out there that show the consistency of the RI for stringwork/bridge extension work? Also, what RI recipe would you guys recommend?
I use the basic recipe 4 cups powdered sugar, 3 tablespoon meringue powder and 6 tablespoons water. Mix on low speed for ten minutes. When using butter cream for string work I add a little light corn syrup to the frosting. Your consistency should be thin but not runny. Just practice, practice, practice.
Thank you for your response! I also found something online saying that the consistency for stringwork should be similar to yogurt, is that about right or is that too thin?
