The oven has been preheating forever and I just was starting to pull out ingredients and I realized that we don't have any milk - and it calls for 1/2 C buttermilk. (I usually just use milk & vinegar) I do not have any sour cream or yogurt either. All I have is mayonnaise, almond milk and rice milk. Don't suppose any of those would work? I'm thinking not.
I wanted to test out a recipe for Italian Wedding cake to possibly use for this upcoming anniversary party. Plus I just really wanted to eat it....
when i bake vegan i do use a soy milk and vinegar mix. I'm guessing that the almond milk would do just as well mixed with the vinegar to thicken. I don't use nuts because of allergies, so recipes calling for almond milk i sub soy, so it just might be fine the other way around!
