Would This Work On Bc?

Hello. I really like this eyelet technique from mycakeschool's blog. I'm wondering if something similar could be done on crusting BC? I know the holes wouldn't be all the way through like the fondant, but would the effect be close? Thanks!

I don't see why it wouldn't work on bc. Of course, you won't have actual holes and no contrasting color underneath, but I think the main feature is the outlining anyway. Give it a try and let us know how it turns out. thumbs_up.gif

Thanks for replying. I tried but the holes didn't really show - the BC kind of "closed" over them. So I took a flower shaped cutter and used that to create an outline and then piped BC over that. I flattened/smoothed down that piping and it got an embroidery/lace kind of look. It's the angel cake in my pics. [/quote]

Adorable cake! I guess we know now it won't quite work like fondant. Really nice job!
