I made an eagle head out of white candy clay, now I need to paint the beak yellow. I'm not sure what to use to do this. Any advise will be appreciated!!
TIA, Sandy

I think you need to used oil-based color for this (Wilton candy colors, for example). The water-based ones (your typical paste and gel food colorings) will probably only bead up. I know you need oil-based colors for tinting chocolate, but I've never had to paint a candy clay figure, so obviously this is just a guess. Would you have time to experiment on a little piece of candy clay with water- and oil-based colors to see what would work?

Powdered colors mixed with lemon extract or Everclear work beautifully.
