I am looking to do a pleated fondant ribbon border at the base of my cakes, similar to this ribbon by Edna De La Cruz (without the medallion). Do anyone know how? Tutorial?

At the risk of showing my ignorance, I suppose the best way would be to pleat your fondant, but it can easily be achieved with 3 strips of fondant ribbon as well. You can taper the last strip to make the delicate curve.

It would take less fondant to do 3 strips versus the extra fondant in an actual pleat.

Thanks for your reply icon_smile.gif I thought about using three strips but I don't think the look will be the same. I was looking for help "pleating" the fondant - I need step by step instructions because I'm not really sure how to get this look. Once the have the pleats, how do I apply it to the cake without messing them up?

sugarkissescakery, send a pm to Edna ( tonedna on cc) She is wonderful about helping others...she will tell you how she did the pleated band. She is one of the nicest and most helpful ladies on CC

AHi there - Sugarkissescakery just wondered if you found any tutorials like this that you we're after? I'm after the same thing now and was interested to know if you found anything and if so, how it went? ;) Cat
