Have any of you ever shipped a cake? Do you have any tips or tricks for make the cake arrive safely? If possible in one decorated piece...

My cousin would really love it if I sent his father a cake. I wouldn't consider this for anyone except family, due to the obvious perils the cake faces. However this presents a testing scenario for the future.
