Ugh - want to bake this cake now and I have no vegetable oil. Can I substitute equal amounts of applesauce for oil? This is a box cake mix.

Seriously? Are you using boxed mixes? If so what brand because I'd like to try to avoid using oil icon_smile.gif

Sorry I have just come back to this post to see all the ?s/remarksicon_smile.gif I used Betty Crocker mixes for my more than 30 yrs of baking but I retired just before the change in size/formula of the mixes icon_sad.gif I used only 2 whole eggs & water (& very occasionally juice)....a glass 1 cup Pyrex measure cup filled to the very brim - I think about 1 1/4 or 1 1/3 cups?
See my *Original* WASC recipe.
