Help!!!! Covering Styrofoam With Fondant!! Can't Do It!!!

Please help!! I am trying to do a ladybug themed cake for my daughter's first bay tomorrow and I can't for the life of me cover the styrofoam head with fondant!! Can somebody please offer any tips or suggestions as to how I can cover a styrofoam ball neatly.!! Please!!!!!!

This is how I have done round styro balls...start with a thicker piece of fondant [semi flattened out ] and starting at the top of your 'head' press and smooth as you go pushing it toward the bottom. This worked for me much better than rolling it out and trying to get the creases out! It also helps to soften the fondant in the microwave first, to make to more pliable. Then when you get to the 'bottom' smooth and pinch off the excess....and roll the whole ball in your hands...to finish smoothing. hope this helps! It certainly won't work on real cake! but then that is the advantage of styro....

I put a light layer of butter cream on the styro foam before covering with fondant.
