Well, I guess at least I'm learning. I think I've overworked my bc. I know when I did the wedding cake in January, the chocolate bc got grainy after I worked it to death. Now my crusting cream cheese bc is getting grainy - and looks like elephant skin!!! Grrrrrrrrrrr. Thankfully I don't do this for pay or I'd be even more upset. I don't suppose there is any way to get rid of this now?
I do plan on trying some scrollwork over it - it will at least distract the eye. Hopefully the scrollwork will stick.
Do you ever get to where you don't stress over a cake? Where you can just pop them out without really thinking? I suppose this is easier than my first ones, but still. I'm still not thrilled with the lack of progress.
It's DONE! With no time to spare. Will post pics later. Not as bad as I feared. And the ribbon wound up covering most of the bc on the base. Just hope it doesn't look like what I don't want it to look like......
