Hi, just wondering where I could buy bulk chocolate in Melbourne without being a registered busines. I only bake for family and friends but it's very expensive buying blocks from the supermarket. I did see a list but wondered if anyone could add to that.
Regards
Di

Hi Di

Have you checked Essential Ingredient in Prahran? Not sure if that's close to you. I've bought 1kg blocks of chocolate from Essential Ingredient in Rozelle (Sydney) - there was no problem - I didn't need to be a business. They stock a fairly large range - 500g to 2kg bags/blocks in white, milk, bittersweet and dark.

The only problem with buying in bulk is having the extra chocolate in the house. I think I eat more than what ends up in cakes...

All the best,
Cris.

I get my choc buttons from a shop which specialises in bulk nuts, grains, flour etc. Thankfully someone mentioned they also sell choc, lollies and cake mix or I would still be buying from the supermarket. Check if something similar in Melbourne.

Check out the Melbourne Food Depot online. They sell to the public as well as wholesale. Not sure how the prices compare or whether there is a store front for you to pick up from. Some of the online cake decorating suppliers also stock chocolate but then you've got the postage costs to factor in. Good luck icon_smile.gif
