I need help fast as you can! I have a cake due in four days...it is to be the bust (shoulders, neck, and head) of an anime character. The problem I am having is deciding how best to support this monstrosity. I realize it will have to be a custom built base. Please help if any of you have ever done anything like this, please send pics and any advice is welcome! Thank you so much!

I would shape it like and upside down T. The shoulders supported with a plank and have a dowel or something vertical going up in the center to support neck and head. I'd also do the neck in rice krispie treats for added support of the head. BUT please keep in mind, I have NOT done a cake like this -- based on your description, that's how I would tackle it.

I would like to know myself how does a experienced baker figure out the structural support by looking at a pic or sketch of a cake? I don't know any engineers to ask for help but if there's a rule of thumb, I'd Love to know. Thanks in advance!
