Just wondering if anyone has tried an orange cake with key lime filling...if so is that a good combination? A bride has requested it but I've never tasted it myself...thanks!

I haven't tried it either...but seeing as how both are citrus based, it couldn't taste BAD....

I have made a key lime cake with orange bc. Taste really good. Having lived in Key West, key lime has become one of my favorites.

Just wanted to update in case anyone else wanted to try this combo....amazing!! I made cupcakes and gave them away just so I could test it and everyone loved, loved, loved it! The Key Lime kinda overpowered the orange but went very well together...hth

Hi Donnabug,
Thanks for the update. I was wondering how it went. Glad everyone liked the key lime and orange combo. I prefer the key lime on the strong side since it is one of my favorites. Most others down here also prefer it strong. Maybe it's just a S. Florida thing. icon_biggrin.gif You might try cutting back on the key lime a little to see if you like that better. Keep us updated if you try it again.
Renee
