I have a 5 tier cake, buttercream frosting, with a fondant drape coming down all the tiers. Is this something I'm going to be able to deliver fully assembled? I'm not sure how I would add the draping if I have to assemble it at the venue. Any tips?
I have done this style cake so many times. I can only fit a 3 tier cake stacked in the trunk of my car. So what I do is attach the drape on the tiers that are stacked. The rest of the tiers are stacked at the venue. At that time I attach the drape for those tiers.
The drapes for the tiers that will be added at the venue are already cut to size and I take them to the venue in a tupperware style container. That way I don't have to cut anything there.
Always bring a couple extra drape pieces. I haven't had to use the extras, but you know if I didn't bring them, I would need them.
