I want to make a cupcake version of the sugar cookies you see with the M&M's in them or even the chocolate chip cookies with M&M's instead of chocolate chips. I have been searching the internet and cannot find anything. Everything I find is either chocolate cake or someone tried with a vanilla cake or brown sugar cake and the M&M's ended up all sinking to the bottom of the cupcakes.

Does anyone have a recipe for a vanilla cake or brown sugar cake recipe that is thick enough to keep the M&M's from sinking to the bottom of the cupcakes?

Thanks in advance!

M&M Cookie-cakes
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
3/4 cups sugar
2 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cups milk
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 cup M&MS® MINIS® Milk Chocolate Candies
Line 24 x 1/3 cup-size cupcake tray.
Sift the flour with the baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Pre heat the oven to 350°F.
In a stand mixer or a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until just mixed in.
Blend the vanilla with the milk and buttermilk.
With a large metal spoon, mix 1/4 dry ingredients into the butter mixture.
Then 1/3 liquid.
Mix another 1/4 dry ingredients in - then another 1/3 liquid.
Stir in M&MS® MINIS® Milk Chocolate Candies.
Mix in the last 1/4 dry ingredients into the batter.
The batter should be thicker* than a usual cupcake batter.
Use a scoop to fill 1/4 cup batter into each hole [2/3 full] .
Bake 20 to 30 minutes. depending on your oven.

*The batter has to be thick enough to support the weight of the m&ms.

when I make my M&M cupcakes (I make it using either chocolate or yellow cake whichever the person prefers) I put my mini M&Ms in a bow and sprinkle a little flour and then toss them in the flour to lightly coat them. I do that with chocolate chips and other things I add into the batter to help keep them from sinking to the bottom
