I am planning on attempting to make my 1st 4-tier wedding cake for my daughters wedding soon and cover it with fondant. My question is.. If I pipe scroll designs on the fondant with ROYAL icing what happens when we slice the cake. Will all the royal icing break an crumble off the cake?? Or Should I use buttercream for piping the designs on the fondant??

Probably, but, at this point, it doesn't really matter what it looks like while it's being cut up.
