Hi, I am trying to make gumpaste flowers and I have problems with the gum paste. It is falling to pieces (crumbs) when I try to make a ball shaped figure out of it. Tried with sugar, tried with shortening, nothing works. I bought the gum paste (wilton brand) 6 months ago. It is a bit dried up but I managed to find a center piece that was elastic.
Help please.

Spritz a little water on it, then knead it really good to try to revive it.
