Hi, i noticed that Duncan hines went from being 18.25 oz. to 16.5 oz. will the wasc recipe still work with this? Has anybody tried with the less onces of cake mix? Thanks.
I noticed this too when I started noticing that I had less batter. I currently use WASC and it still works. The recipe I use for strawberry required a cut in liquid. I am noticing when I make my 6" and 10" I'm coming up a bit short on batter, especially for chocolate, so I'm starting to research alternative scratch recipes. I just checked a couple of boxes that I have and the lemon and french vanilla still have 18.25 oz. I will say, I recently made up some cupcakes and I still got plenty of batter for those.
I saw in a different forum post that if you get an extra box of what ever mix you are using and take 1/3 cup of it and add to the mix it should bring your amount to the 18.25 ounces .... Or u can get a small scale as well and weigh the extra till you reach the 18.25 ounces .
Yes, I now open a box and take mix from that box. All my cake mix cakes are now weighed to the original 18.25 ounces. I had to go through and adjust my prices.
