I am looking into buying this for cupcake decorating BUT I have read the reviews and it is 50/50 ... those that love it, really love it but those that don't have had nothing but trouble getting clean cuts ... anyone have one? What do you think? What products do you use? Rolled fondant? Store bought sugar sheets? Do you freeze the sheets or fondant before cutting, like some of the reviewers have suggested? Any help would be appreciated!

I love my cricut cake!!! I just used it this weekend actually. I use fondant and gumpaste mix, gumpaste or fondant with tylose powder and I freeze it for 10 - 15 minutes before I cut and get very clean lines and cuts. I make sure I have a sharp blade, which helps but you can look these and see the results. I could not have made some of the shapes (I have no artistic talent) myself so being able to use the cartridges or I am lucky enough to have an old version of SCAL to trace other images is a lifesaver. My handwriting is also terrible so the cricut allows me to cut letters and phrases neatly.
