Hi I am making a Camo bowling ball cake and had a quick question about when to do the pattern. I am going to use the wilton spray color and a leaf stencil for the pattern but my question is should I roll the fondant out, spray the pattern, let dry and then put it on the cake or put the fondant on the cake then spray the pattern? Thanks for all the help! icon_biggrin.gif

I think the only fondant that will work for that is Fondarific (I think that's the one) because it never dries out - more like candy clay. Anything else will get elephant skin extremely badly if you try to cover a shape like that after letting it dry out. With any other fondant, cover the ball then spray your pattern.

I would fondant the cake first since your fondant is going to stretch when you are covering your cake. You also take the risk of smearing the spray.
