I'm making a three tiered wedding cake-14/10/6 inch square. What size display board or cake stand is best to use? I've heard that it should be 4 inches larger but that seems somewhat small to me. Opinions of others? Thanks

Now, I am just a hobby baker, but I typically use a board 4" larger than my bottom tier as my display board. You can try putting your 14" cake pan on an 18" board, then a 20" board, etc.--this will at least give you an idea of how much room you will actually have.
