I have a wedding coming up in 2 weeks and I am in need of an idea!!! My bride wants a tier of cake, then a tier of donuts, tier of cake, tier of donuts. Total 4 tiers of cake, 3 tiers of donuts. So I need to create a cake stand, that has "floating tiers", to place the donuts on. I want to transport this seperate and put it together once at the reception site. Any ideas on how to do this??? The only thing I have come up with so far is to use PVC, but how?

If you have time and $ in the budget, something like crystal splendor components with a center column will work and look finished. Each piece is sold separately, so you can get whatever configuration you need. They are not super expensive and are heavy-duty enough to re-use if needed/wanted.
