I have been wanting to try one of these for a very long time and now I've ordered a self cutting mold. thumbs_up.gif

Can you give any suggestions as to how you use it and your opinion of the product? I wish the site gave photos of samples of cakes done with each wrap. Does anyone have any of their wrapped cakes to share? I'd love to see your work!

I have TONS of their molds!! They're very easy to use. Roll out your fondant -- not too thick, not too thin. Lay in the mold and press down with a dry sponge. Then peel back and voila -- beautiful lace!! And no, you're not seeing things, the molds are a foam product, not silicone. You can pour melted chocolate in them as well, but chocolate picks up the sheen (or lack thereof) of whatever it's poured into, so in this case the chocolate unmolds with a flat, matte look. Thank you for your quick reply. thumbs_up.gif Oh my, I had no idea it was not silicone!! That is very interesting and now has me concerned about sticking... Oh goodie, I can wrap chocolate too?

Don't worry about sticking, just take your "poofy" -- the cornstarch puff -- and "wipe" it over the fondant in long strokes -- this will keep the fondant from sticking. If you are using white chocolate, use a poofy of confectioners sugar and if you are using dark chocolate, use a poofy of cocoa powder. The cocoa powder may stain the mold though, so be aware of that.

I have several of their trim molds and have never had any trouble with them sticking the molds.

Yes, they did shut down their business.  I spoke with the owner not too long ago about the situation.  Some of their molds are still available for sale at CalJava.
