Hello - I'm new here icon_smile.gif

Just wondering if anyone has advice on how to attach a standing fondant figure to a cake board (the cake board will sit ontop of the cake). I was thinking of putting skewers through their legs, letting them dry, and then attaching it to be board with royal icing? I'm just afraid that it might be heavy and the figure will fall. Or would I actually need to pierce the skewer through the board?

Also, how far in advance can I make the figures - I wanted to make them early (3 months in advance) lol.. just in case I make many mistakes icon_smile.gif

Thanks for your help! Much appreciated!

Put the skewers or dowels through the legs. Don't pick them up until they're totally dry. The dowels should go through the board into the cake. If the figure is really heavy, dowel the cake underneath the board.
