Hi,
I need to do a large cake and i have to use a wood cake board for it. I usually use the Wilton boards; but i can't use then this time. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to cover the board directly with the Fondant or if I need to cover it with something else and then the fondant.

Any suggestions or ideas will be really appreciated.

Thanks

When I cover wood boards with fondant, I just make sure the board is slightly damp so the fondant will stick to it. Not wet, just a very light misting of water.

Directly with fondant is fine. No one is going to eat it and the cake should be on it's own board, so no direct contact.

I use crisco to adhere it.

You could also use paper covered with clear contact paper or the standard floral foil.
