how do i "set" or "finish" petal dust on gumpaste? i've seen on cake tv shows that people steam their gumpaste flowers after dusting to "set" it so the dust won't come off. is that what yall prefer or is there another method? i have a hand-held garment steamer for finishing my fondant cakes, just to get rid of the residual powdered sugar or cornstarch.

can i use my airbrush and spray it with clear alcohol? what is your preferred method? i don't want my colors bleeding or blowing away or getting messy.

I use the steam, I think if you used the airbrush it would mess it more. Just a few seconds in the steam and it is ok, just don't touch the colors until it is dry, it will only take a minute. Happy Caking!!
