Fondont Belts For Martial Arts Cake

I saw martial arts cupcakes in the image gallery but can't get the bows right...any suggestions??? icon_cry.gif

Martial arts belts are typically tied in a knot. When I did mine I tied my belt around a chair so I could see how it looked and get as close as possible, using the required medium.

I did it in pieces, though. The part around the waist was 2 pieces, since it goes around twice, the knot was composed of 2 pieces wrapped around each other, and the hanging ties another 2 pieces. I attached them to each other with gum glue (tylose mixed with water). I did have to hold the knot on with toothpicks until it was a little heavy.
