I did a handpainted cake for my grandmother's birthday and now several people have inquired about handpainted cakes. can anyone tell me how much do you charge on a scale ( i know it depends on the design). I am clueless here

I have different tiers that I "bill" myself out for depending on which hat I am wearing. If I'm baking or just making cupcakes, that's a lower wage. If I'm doing basic decorating, that's a medium wage. If I'm doing super tricky I-am-teh-awesome cake decorating, I charge that at my premium rate.

So you need to figure out what is your hourly rate and how long do you think it will take you to execute the requested design.

We usually charge $50 per tier. If it's very intricate, I might add to it. But we' haven't had more than floral patterns and simple themes (like peter rabbit).
