My friend wants me to make her a pregnant belly cake for her baby shower & the cake will need to feed a lot of people so I'm going to try putting it onto a sheet cake or maybe a 10 or 12" round.
My question is, do I need to add a cake board under the belly & boobs or would it be okay to just place the cakes on top of the sheet?

If you want to be able to cut separate servings from the belly and boobs, you need a board.

I'm mostly worried that the belly/boob cakes will be too heavy & sink into the sheet cake?

I haven't had that problem...I don't do belly cakes but I do some adult cakes and I don't put boards under the boobs, even when they're fairly heavy. The reason the board would allow you to cut more servings is that otherwise, you'll end up with some servings that are 4" tall and others that are 8" tall (hard to fit on a plate).
