I'm looking for a cake and icing recipe that are healthier than my normal ones. Something that's maybe a little less sugar, or uses applesauce. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Check out

www.elanaspantry.com

Her cake and cupcake recipes are awesome and healthier too.

She also has 2 books out, both are excellent.

I use her vanilla cupcakes for my Diabetic and Gluten-Free clients. Very yummy.

While browsing a few previous forum posts I read box mix and any flavor of pop, a few good combos, may be, white mix and sprite, choc mix and cherry coke, white mix and orange, white mix and cream soda, choc mix and root beer.

Yes weight watcher cake recipe is any box mix with any can of diet pop. Mix em up and it apparently makes a cake.

I can't imagine it tastes good. I mean, two wrongs don't make a right. LOL

I have used it several times. Makes a very nice dense and moist cake. You can use flavors that enhance, like orange soda with orange cake. Or just use sprite if you don't want to alter the flavor any.
