Making competition cake...I would like to make each cake have two layers of different flavors that will mend well together. Making choc cake with salted caramel filling for one layer but I'm not sure what to pair it with. I was thinking a basic whipped cream but want something really fantastic...I would do a ganache but I love chocolate!

Any other ideas?

What about some kind of praline filling or something like butter pecan? Imagine a brownie sundae and the different types of ice cream that would be good wedged between a brownie and some caramel lol, thats what I would use for inspiration! Maybe even look up some cool ice cream flavors then re-create those flavors in a mousee.

I think nuts go really well with both chocolate and caramel. Peanut butter?

Maybe I can do a whipped cream for one layer but flavor it with either caramel or maybe hazelnut? I can use one of the flavored creamers? If it were up to me I'd do a choc mousse or thick ganache but I like choc and sugar!! LOL
