Greetings!

Long-time lurker here -- so inspired by all the great cookie ideas.

Anyway, I picked up this cookie cutter at the Salvation Army (couldn't pass it up for only a buck) and was wondering if anyone knew what it was. My friends and I had a couple ideas, but I'm hoping someone recognizes it. I haven't seen it at any of the cake supply shops around here.

Thanks!
LL

It is a bird.

Look at the first image you took and imagine you are looking down from above and slightly behind.

Wings on either side, head in the middle and tail behind and bird flying to the left.

I showed it to my family and without hesitation each member said it was a bird on the wing, flying very high and seen from above.

Ghost w/ the sheet flaring out.

I think by the first photo that it looks like a carrot with a bunny chewing it. The carrot is obvious and then the ears and nose near the top right.

My family had no ideas, just mine.

Good Luck. Let us know if you figure it out, it sure is a mystery.

I have very similar cutters of people in yoga poses... but this looks like gymnastis or divers to me......you can do a lot with these depends on where you put you lines...

My first impression was a ballet dancer.

All I see is a bird, too. If I looked first, read second- maybe I'd have another opinion icon_wink.gif but defintely looks like a bird!

Looks like you got a multi-purpose cookie cutter! Look at all the ideas you can get from it! To me...my first thought was bat-man!

Thanks for the ideas!

Ballet dancer and fairy (both with very long legs, I guess) have been mentioned in my circles. For the top right version, one friend suggested a moose head on the wall. It definitely inspires some creative ideas.

Annabakescakes Posted 30 Dec 2011 , 11:33pm

I'm not seeing the fairy's head, maybe a dragonfly?

bakencake Posted 30 Dec 2011 , 11:55pm

I got it! Bottom right corner. Its a gun. W/ the cock pulled back

Olivia02 Posted 31 Dec 2011 , 12:07am

Yes, I agree, the bottom right looks like a gun. The others to me also look like a karate person throwing a kick in the air.

I am seeing this! Btw, the * is called a hammer!

Bo_n_arro Posted 31 Dec 2011 , 1:03am

My daughter says the first one looks like a kid pushing a sled.

Herekittykitty Posted 31 Dec 2011 , 1:21am

my first thought was mud flap girl but it doesn't have the bent knees, so girl lying in repose - maybe mermaid.

My other guess is humming bird with furled tounge.

I thought it kind of looked like a pin-up girl posing, like laying/sitting up facing you? Like how it is in the first image.

wild4wallace Posted 31 Dec 2011 , 6:42pm

This cookie cutter is a geographical location, such as a state, or a country, a contanent, possible even an individual county or parish within a state. I actually have a set of California cookie cutters with all the counties. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

I hope this helps.

Cakery2012 Posted 31 Dec 2011 , 7:24pm

Is it the state of Delaware?

Ok, after mud flap girl this was actually my second thought (not mermaid) but then I thought - who is making pin up girl cookie cutters and where would you even buy one? Mermaid seemed much more plausible. icon_lol.gif But that is totally what it looks like to me too.

wild4wallace Posted 31 Dec 2011 , 11:45pm

Check out this site, http://geology.com/state-map/, you should be able to click on each state to see a detailed shape of the state outline and of each county/parish. Also look for diffenent countries. I really suck at geograhpy so I have no idea which state it could be, but allowing for expansion of the dough as it cooks, I would say florida would be a good one to start with.

Annabakescakes Posted 1 Jan 2012 , 12:05am

This is like a litmus test, lol. I wonder what it says about us?

rlowry03 Posted 1 Jan 2012 , 12:11am

Top left, I see a skier. He's bent way down at the knees, with his elbows bent out behind him. The long skinny part is his skis.

LOL I thought "who is making pin up cookie cutters" too.

wissa Posted 1 Jan 2012 , 12:48am

icon_rolleyes.gif Looks to me like a moose head with out antlers ( top right) looks like his head is on the wall or some thing.....lol just another of many great possibilties!!! looks like you can use this as so many cutters all in one!!! WOW just think 5 or more shapes all for $1 !!! WOW you go girl! icon_lol.gif

Unlimited Posted 1 Jan 2012 , 3:35am

Is it stamped with a name brand or manufacturer? That would be helpful.

If not, do you think it's possibly a handmade one-of-a-kind shape?

Jackie Posted 1 Jan 2012 , 5:04am

a mystery indeed!
This one has me stumped too!

All4Show Posted 1 Jan 2012 , 5:33am

If it's a state it looks like Virginia.

mustang1964 Posted 1 Jan 2012 , 8:29am

It's a bird it's a plane it's superman!
No idea really lol icon_smile.gif

escaliba1234 Posted 1 Jan 2012 , 11:59am

Very amusing, reading all the ideas!

Amazing how we all see things so differently.

To me, it could not be anything but a bird and I see this idea has a few other takers, too.

Enjoy your cutter and take your pick of our ideas!
