I've been asked to make a baseball glove cake and I've looked on this site and online. It seems like it should be really easy, but I've seen some really bad ones online! Does anyone have any ideas that would help me? I don't want to use the Wilton or any other shaped pan. Many I've seen just look like a fat hand with a few "stitches" on it. It's for a child, so it doesn't have to look like a professional made it, but I do want it to look as real as possible. Thanks so much for any help or advice!

When I did mine I carved it from a 3 D heart-shaped pan that I picked up at a yard sale. I covered it in fondant and shaded it with cocoa. I copied the shape and the stitching from a real glove.

I REALLY hope it doesn't look like a fat hand with a few stitches icon_lol.gif

Haha! Thanks Elcee! I actually have a set of heart shaped pans. Maybe I'll do a practice one with those.
