How Long Do Rice Crispy Treats Figures Last?

I want to make sports shoes for display using rice crispy treats. Will they go bad? If so, after how long?

As long as they are covered in fondant they should last a couple of weeks.

Mine tasted stale after just over a week, even covered in candy melts and fondant. So, I freeze it now, as I don't want to take chances.
