I made a cake today with the help of my mom and my cousin. We made a bowls birthday cake for my grandad with a kneeling man. This is the first time I've ever worked with sugar paste and found it really difficult to work with. I usually buy regal ice then colour it but brought sugarpaste as it's already coloured. Has anyone got any tips please? It kept cracking and breaking. We've really struggled!
Sometimes I've found it necessary to knead extra shortening into storebought gumpaste, as it dries out more quickly. (at least the brands I've tried).
