Does anyone know how to make those lovely sphere cakes like the ones made by Makiko Searle?

She explains it in her book, which I leafed through recently (but stupidly didn't buy it). I recall she just rolls her fondant really thin and covers the ball in one piece of fondant, leaves all the seams at the base and smooths them out. Of course that sounds easier than it probably is, I've never tried it!
