I've had cream cheese refrigerated in my fridge for months.

Just like the PP, I've had mine refrigerated for many months with no problem. Just watch out the use by date.

And currently I have cream cheese frosting in my fridge, leftover from the RV cupcakes I made more than a week ago, I've been guiltily snacking on the icing a bit everyday LOL and I'm fine.

Dairy products must have a sell by or use by date on their package. They are safe if refrigerated and unopened. Once you open them, however, the clock starts ticking. So even if the date is three months out, I wouldn't keep cream cheese longer than two weeks if the seal has been broken.

When I took my Food Handlers class I asked that same question. The instructor and many of the chefs said cream cheese icing would be good for a couple of weeks if kept in the fridge. They all agreed that it could also be kept frozen.
