I need to make a sheet cake for a birthday party and the customer wants chocolate and vanilla cake. What do I put in the middle to divide the cake when I pour it in. I have a 10 x 10 pan so would it just be easier to make two cakes and put them together.

Get a Batter Daddy. It's a batter, cake seperator. You can order them online and even some cake supply shops carry them now. I hope this helps

I have done a 1/2 chocolate 1/2 vanilla cake many times and don't put anything in between the batters. I just pour the two at the same time, the batter will not mix when it meets - it is thick enough to hold its own. HTH!
