I am doing a wedding cake in the next 2 months I have not ever had to match a color before. My question is on mixing colors to get as close to my brides plum roses as possible for my gum paste flowers. When I mixed my gum paste it is as close as I can get; pretty much exact, but when I set it out to dry they turn this awful gray, grapple color; no where near the shade that it is wet. These are a deep dark flower in her bouquet. I can't seem to get the color dark enough when dried ( my brides flower's remind me of bloody purple vampire, Halloween roses) Then my my bride wants a drape on the cake in the same shade in fondant.I just cant seem to get the gum paste dark enough and bring out the red in the plum. Then my next question is how do I get the fondant drape to match the gum paste roses? This is my first bride who is asking for matching colors to her bouquet, and I know she wont be my last...plz advise...Thank you!!!
