Why Is Fuchsia Fondant Unstable?

Hi, a friend made a batch of fuchsia fondant and a day or two later it turned purple. Does anyone know why this would happen or have any tips of how to avoid it happening.

I have the same trouble with my purple fondants. They've turned blue the next day. This is when I use wilton's colors. I'm starting to switch over to Americolor as I go. I hope it makes a difference. Otherwise, I try to buy the pre colored deep pinks and purples.

I'd love to hear the explanation as well.

I read somewhere the other day (it may even have been the americolor site?!) that pinks and one other colour (I'm blanking on that - maybe red?) are just less stable with UV light. They need to be kept away from light as much as possible, and will fade.
