Anyone got a recipe for crusting buttercream that does not have crisco in it. I just do not like all that grease. Thanks.

The english recipe is 4oz butter (salted does work best), 8oz icing sugar and a few drops of vanilla extract or flavouring of your choice. This gives a nice creamy icing, not too sweet and it does crust

CakeRookie,

I bought the 0 trans fat crisco and it seemed less greasy to me...maybe that might be an option?
