I am wanting to do some kind of peppermint flavored cake as a Christmas flavor and had 2 ideas and would like opinions on it. I want to make a peppermint buttercream for the filling but was wondering would it go better with a chocolate cake or white chocolate cake? Any thoughts would be great.

First thing that popped into my head was chocolate... But I love chocolate mint so that might be why!! lol Anyway it sounds more appealing as well.. Good luck

Ive made (and LOVED) both. I have an After 8 cake which is choc cake and mint frosting whcih is likley my most popular BUT have also made and REALLY enjoyed a French Vanilla WASC with the same mint filling icon_smile.gif

Mmm.. this post is making me very hungry!

Chocolate was my first pick. I doubted myself after having a peppermint mocha drink last night realizing that I like peppermint white mochas better so was thinking the same for a cake. Thanks for the input, I think I'll go with chocolate.
