I am planning to do the famous Bear Bryant houdstooth fedora hat for University of Alamaba and it has a red feather in the side of it. Any suggestions on how to create it?? I could use gumpaste, but would love to try sugar but have never done anything with it. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

I would suggest doing the feather from either gumpaste or fondant with Tylose in it. Sugar (I'm assuming you mean Isomalt) won't work in this application.

Do you know how to make a feather? If not I'll help you.
