Not that I work with fondant that much but I have the hardest time rolling fondant on my granite counter in the winter. Any suggestions?
When you say you re having a hard time what specifically do yo mean? Is it sticking?
Are you lightly dusting your counter with confectioners sugar before rolling out?
Yes. I dust the counter top but I think it's so cold that the fondant gets too cold and stiff to roll out. I even tried warming it in the microwave for a few seconds before kneeding.
Not sure if it would work but maybe try warming the counter up with a hair dryer first?
I use a fat daddio silpat mat that is about 2'x3. No sticking, no need to dust with sugar. Would solve your cold counter problem as well. You get a bit of an impression from the mat but it's on the bottom of the fondant so it doesn't matter.
