I followed the recipe to a T EXCEPT I used cake flour cause I didn't want dense cupcakes. My sister said they tatse like nothing. And she's right, I tatsed them and they tasted like absoulty nothing. Which is odd cause the cake recipe usually comes out just fine. What would you do to bring the flavor out a bit more?

I like the classis red velvet taste, not too chocolate but not vanilla ish....

Thanks in advance for your help.

He actually does recomend using cake flour instead of the all purpose. I add an extra tsp of cocoa. I make mini cupcakes and have had no problem. I also use the vanilla bean paste, don't know if that makes a difference or not.
