I just had to share my daily laugh.
I had a girl email me looking for an "awesome" cake for her 19th birthday...she wasn't sure what she wanted yet but she wanted something really cool and over the top.

I sent her some pricing info and rec'd an email back stating that she didn't like my pricing. So, I asked her what her budget was and maybe we could figure out something that would work for her.

Her email came back stating that her budget was $20 and she only needed a cake for 5-8 people. And Dairy Queen can do a custom ICE cream cake for $22. (with ICE in capital cuz that makes it important I guess)

I politely responded that a custom cake and a DQ cake are not comparable and wished her all the best in finding an "over the top" cake for $20.

Is it even possible to make an 'over the top' 'awesome' cake for 5-8 people? When I started doing this as a hobby, I was surprised at the amount it actually cost to make a cake, and the time it took to make it, yet even before that I would have priced it at more than £20..

Just when you think you've heard it all...I guess she figures since they can do ICE cream in the cake for $22, surely you can do a regular, non ICE cream cake for that much! icon_wink.gif
