I am making cupcakes for my reunion and our colors are red and white. . .of course! I was planning on doing some white with red sprinkles and some red with white pearls. . .my red icing is like a light red. .kind of a salmon color. I used Americolor (which I've red so many good things about). I made it yesterday and it's sat covered for a long time and it's not getting any darker.

I dont' want to add more color because it's to the point of compromising the icing. . what do I do?????

If the color is Salmon color you are not using enough..I use Americolor all the itme but you need more than a drop...Give itr a few good squirts!!

Add more color.

If you have to add in more powder sugar to help make up for the extra liquid or add in a little cornstarch to help.

Thanks. . I will try. I added more this morning and it has darkened a little. I put in a few squirts last night and then another dollop this morning. . .
